Alzheimer's Dementia
If you are a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s dementia, you may be familiar with the agitated behaviors that many people with this condition experience.
Examples of some easily identifiable agitated behaviors are:
• Restlessness
• Pacing/aimless wandering
• Screaming
• Kicking
• Shouting
• Hitting others or self
• Throwing things
• Pushing people
• Resistiveness
• Hurting self or others
• Constant unwarranted requests for attention or help
• Tearing things or destroying property
To be eligible for this study, a potential participant must:
Be between the ages of 50 and 90
Have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s disease
Have moderate-to-severe agitation that interferes with their daily life
