About Dr. Sonia Kalirao

Sonia Kalirao, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist. She provides patients with the highest levels of care at The Neurology Institute in Coral Springs, Florida.  Dr. Kalirao serves as the Program Director for Neurology Residency at Westside Regional and Northwest Medical Center.  She sits on multiple committees and works with multiple organizations to ensure the highest level of comprehensive patient care.   

Dr. Kalirao completed her neurology residency at New York Medical College in New York and a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota with epilepsy at Minnesota Epilepsy Group, Minnesota.

Dr. Kalirao's sees all spectrums of neurology disorders with emphasis on clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, intra-operative monitoring, EEG, EMG, and using onabotulinum toxin A (Botox®) and rimabotulinum toxin B (Myobloc®). 

Dr. Kalirao has experience treating patients of all types and complexities. She is widely published and acts as a principal investigator for multiple ongoing clinical trials in various neurological disorders. She has given dozens of lectures on a wide range of neurological topics and is actively involved in neurological research and education. 

Throughout the years, Dr. Kalirao has received multiple awards for patient satisfaction. She believes in personalized, compassionate care. Dr. Kalirao is on staff as faculty with various institutions in South Florida and believes in offering the latest in patient care.
